The Cadillac XT4 is a compact SUV suitable for commuters of all demographics. For the 2022 model, what are the drivetrain options? Does the option include all-wheel-drive (AWD)? If so, is it available on all trims, or only in premium trim lines?

Drivetrain Options

The 2022 Cadillac XT4 comes in three trim levels: Sport, Luxury, and Premium Luxury. Front-wheel-drive comes standard on all three trims. However, all-wheel-drive is also available as an optional upgrade for all three trims. Regardless of trim and drivetrain, under the hood is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. This provides 237 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. These figures apply across all trims and both drivetrain options.

Do I Need All-Wheel-Drive?

For daily commuting, front-wheel-drive suffices. However, if you plan on using the Cadillac XT4 for off-road excursions or frequently drive on bumpy terrain, then all-wheel-drive provides better traction. For drivers that just use their vehicle for going to work, running errands, or picking up the kids, front-wheel-drive gets the job done.

Other Notable Features

18-inch wheels come standard, though buyers have the option to upgrade to beefier 20-inch alloy wheels. If you opt for the Sport trim, you also have the option to upgrade to a sport-tuned suspension with adaptive dampers. On the infotainment side, the model utilizes the brand’s CUE software with an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot and a seven-speaker audio system.
